The IRS Tax Exempt and Government Entities’ Exempt Organizations division presented this seminar at the 2008 IRS Nationwide Tax Forums, and the information was correct at the time of recording.
After almost 30 years, the IRS issued a new Form 990, the annual information return filed by charities and other tax-exempt organizations. The new form, which is used for the 2008 tax year (for returns filed in 2009), is significantly different from the current form. This workshop covers the major changes made to the form, new information organizations need to provide and the phase-in filing period.
