The IRS Wage and Investment division presented this seminar at the 2015 IRS Nationwide Tax Forum.

This seminar discusses the major tax law changes for 2015, including how they affect tax forms and publications. This seminar also provides information on the Affordable Care Act’s Individual Shared Responsibility Provision (ISRP), Minimum Essential Coverage, exemptions, and payment calculations.

By the end of this presentation, you will be able to:

  • Recall dollar limits ABLE accounts may not exceed in order to remain eligible for SSI benefits
  • Recognize changes being made to Boxes 1f, 1g, and 12 on the 2016 Form 1099-B
  • Determine health insurance coverage that qualifies as Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC)
  • Calculate a family’s flat dollar amount for purposes of the shared responsibility payment  
  • Identify health coverage exemptions the Health Insurance Marketplace or the IRS can grant
